Health & Safety Protocols

SORCE MARTIAL ARTS REOPENING PlAN HEALTH AND SAFETY PROTOCOLS

The impact of the Covid-19 has been challenging for everyone.   As a martial arts studio, we quickly adapted and went to an all online virtual classes for our students.  10 weeks later when the Suburban Milwaukee County Suburbs allowed fitness centers an gyms to open, we implemented our new health and safety protocols based on the WEDC guidelines for gyms and fitness centers.

Overview: The Suburban Milwaukee County Suburbs are entering their next phase allowing gyms and fitness centers to open with a recommended limit of 25% Capacity.

New Health and Safety Protocols

Now that our plan is laid out, we want to make sure you know about all of the additional health and safety precautions we’re taking at Sorce Martial Arts.  This poster outlines the General Protocols, and we have more specific details below.

Specifics on our Health and Safety Protocols

Limit on Class Sizes and Social Distancing During Phase 1

  • Wash you hands or use hand sanitizer when you enter and leave
  • Class sizes are limited to give students their own workout area
  • Students will be spaced our greater than 6 feet apart
  • Staggered start and end times to reduce traffic
  • Each student will have their own punching bag for class
  • There will be no sharing of equipment
  • There will be no sparring/partner drills

Entering/Exiting/Check-in/Procedures

  • Instructors will check students into classes
  • Please arrive in Uniform whenever possible
  • Enter on the corner 10TH and Milwaukee
  • Exit on 10th Ave
  • Shoe Racks are spaced out in the back to help with social distancing
  • Since we are not sparring you do not need to bring your sparring gear to class for now. Students Do need their Eskrima Equipment, Warrior Gear, and Boxing Gloves if you have them.

Limits on Parents and Visitors

The guidelines right now are for 25% capacity, so we just have to keep an eye on how many spectators we have.  Some of our younger students may need a parent with them, so feel free to come in with them.  We are fortunate to have a lot of room, just please respect social distancing during this time.

If it is not too crowded, pop in periodically to say hello and watch part of a class, We Love Seeing Everyone!

If you are Sick, Stay home

This is key, I hope people do this forever.  Many people would take cold medicine, suck it up and power through, we can no longer have that.

Masks are Optional

The State of Wisconsin is not requiring gym goers to wear a mask.  If you would like to wear a mask, you are more then welcome.  Please understand a mask can limit your ability to breath while working out.

Hand Sanitizer Stations located conveniently throughout the school.

Cleaning/Disinfecting Procedures

We’ve always prided ourselves on keeping a clean studio, but we are stepping it up a notch!  Here are the things we will be doing as a commitment to your health:

  • Disinfecting Equipment after each and every class
  • Deep clean of the school every Day
  • Regular sanitizing of high- touch areas
  • Disinfectant wipes and hand Sanitizer will be available

Phew! That was a lot to cover! Please know the above may change slightly if government recommendations change. Thank you so much for your patience as we navigate through the reopening.
